
Rosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez 7 September, 1964, is an American choreographer and actress. Her breakthrough role as Tina in Do the Right Thing (1989) was followed by White Men Can't jump (1992). Perez was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fearless (1993). Her film credits that have featured her in the past include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) as well as Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her role in the film The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has performed in stage shows on Broadway including The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. In the 18th season, she also co-hosted on ABC's talk show The View. She attended Grover Cleveland High School, in the Ridgewood neighborhood in Queens. [11] By 1999 her mother was in poverty in the Woodside Houses, when she passed away due to AIDS-related issues.
