Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake (born Beverly Louise Neill) was an incredibly famous American actor. Most famously, she was known for being the actress who played Miss Kitty Russell in the TV series Gunsmoke. Additionally, she has appeared in TV shows like "The Red Skelton Show", "Tattletales" and "The Edge of Night". She also acted in dozens of movies, including 'Stars in My Crown' 'Duchess of Idaho", 'Cattle town', 'Miss Robinson Crusoe'in 'About Mrs. Leslie', 'The Adventures Hajji Baba', 'High Society', and 'The Boost'. A former telephone operator, Blake was an avid animal lover. She, along with husband Frank Gilbert, was one of the first humans to successfully breed cheetahs in captivity. American actress, Sheila. Gilbert was also co-founder of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. While she was a board member of Humane Society of the United States Blake's career has had a lengthy history. Blake was awarded numerous awards and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Blake was also awarded the Courage Award by the American Cancer Society.
